Hi! Welcome to Square Peg Astrology. I'm Peggy Mohler, and I'm a beginning Astrologer. I've created something I call "Chart Art", which is featured on this site. Chart Art is astrological birth charts and designs hand-painted on ceramics.
Why "Chart Art"? I've been painting ceramics for several years, as a hobby, at "paint your own" pottery studios. It's relaxing and therapeutic for me, and I've been able to create useful and fun items for myself, friends and family. When I decided to really study astrology I went to a website where I could have my birth chart (a map of where all the planets were at the moment I was born) calculated. I typed in my information, and when my birth chart came on the screen, my first thought was "That would make a very cool plate!" 
I was able to recognize most of the signs around the outside ring of the chart, but the interior of the chart didn't make much sense to me. Almost everyone knows the glyphs for Venus (the circle with the cross on the bottom) and Mars (the circle with the arrow coming out of it), and the Moon is pretty easy to figure out, but the rest of it was a mystery to me. So I was seeing my birth chart from an aesthetic perspective, not an astrological one.
After months of thinking about just how to get it onto a plate ~~ what size, style, colors? ~~ and with some help from my friends at Ceramics in the City, I finally came up with a plan. And Chart Art was born! I started with my birth chart, and I liked the way it turned out ~~ pretty much. Being a Virgo, of course, I wanted it to be perfect. So I did a few more for family and friends (and one for a certain Presidential candidate's art contest), tweaking and adjusting along the way.
